This is evident in our Sixth Form where the students are happy and take pride in being part of the school community. We have developed excellent relationships with our Year 12 students, fostered and developed over time. Following their successful IGCSE results each student will meet with SLT to review their career plans and ensure their chosen subjects meet their expectations. Students will embark on an exciting programme of AS subjects & BTEC, and undertake preparation for the next stage of their journey.
A-Levels
In Key Stage 5, RGSGQ remains firmly committed to Advanced Subsidiary Level (AS) which are accepted by universities around the world. Students who have successfully completed their IGCSEs will select their preferred subjects to study in Year 12 which will prepare them for university and then the start of their careers. Students are able to choose a minimum of 3 subjects and a maximum of 4 subjects. Their subject selection at this stage will influence their choice of a degree course at university. We take pride in supporting all our pupils through the exciting choices and the hard work that goes into the last two years at the RGS.
BTEC
BTEC are internationally recognised qualifications offered at different levels in many different subjects. BTEC is not an exam-based route, instead students will complete assignments throughout the year in the classroom. The benefits of BTEC are that they are vocational courses designed to develop the skills future employers seek. The level 3 BTEC, studied in Year 12, is the equivalent to 1 AS Level.

We pride ourselves in providing small class sizes, giving a favorable staff to student ratio. This means enhanced learning with more focused feedback through one-to-one support.
Students take an active role in the school and are responsible for organising a number of events in the school such as the staff VS Sixth Form football event and breast cancer awareness day.
The highlight of every year is the Year 12 graduation, an evening celebrating the students’ successes and wishing them well for when they leave the school
