The school provides a secure and safe atmosphere in which children are challenged to develop the required intellectual, social, and athletic qualities. We place a strong emphasis on individual growth while also encouraging students to consider themselves as valuable and contributing members of our school and community.
Pupils in Years 1 to 6 are taught by their class teachers for the core subjects of Maths, English, Science and Topic, which includes History, Geography and Art and Design. The curriculum is mostly presented in a topic-based method, which enables the students to develop links between lessons. Our curriculum encompasses Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) and our lessons heavily embed our six values of scholarship, courage, inclusivity, integrity, respect and collaboration. Pupils in the primary school also benefit from access to a Science laboratory which further enhances teaching and learning. Music, PE and Languages are taught by specialist subject teachers in dedicated classrooms. We also incorporate Qatar History into our primary school curriculum. This curriculum aims to educate pupils about the environment in which they live in Qatar, with a focus on local culture, global issues, Qatar’s progress, and society’s multicultural aspect. This aids children’s development as global citizens. Classes in EYFS and Key Stage 1 benefits from a dedicated Teaching Assistant and KS2 share Teaching assistants. Our maximum class size is 25.
Our pupils embark on a lifelong learning adventure in Year 1, when they begin the National Curriculum of England and Wales. Staff contact promotes a smooth transition from early childhood to primary school, ensuring learning continuity. By the end of Year Six, all of our pupils are well prepared both academically and socially for the excitement and new challenges of secondary school.
