During our Year 9 PSHE lessons, we start to introduce careers and different pathways that students can take to reach their potential. We then invite the parents into school to deliver an options presentation and for them to discuss with our teachers the best courses for their child. The year group will have an assembly and then each student then has a consultation with a member of the SLT to pick their Year 10 options.
During Key Stage 4 and 5 we invite speakers into the school such as medical professionals and take the students to a number of university fares. We hosted a university fare at the school which gave our students an opportunity to talk to a number of different universities about a range of courses.
To further enhance the provision offered in school, we also work closely with local universities and arrange trips to local career fares. We have hosted several university fares at RGSGQ with over 10 international universities in attendance.
The Careers and University provision at RGSGQ aims to empower our students with the knowledge and experiences they need to make informed decisions about their future. By offering a comprehensive program, we ensure that each student is well-prepared to navigate their future academic and career paths.
