• Do you accommodate children with special needs?

Yes, we accommodate students with special needs. However, given our small but dedicated team, we carefully assess each case to ensure we can provide the necessary support. We consider the severity of the student’s needs, the external help they receive, and the number of special needs students already in the class, ensuring that teachers can maintain a balanced and effective learning environment. We work closely with parents and specialists to create personalized support plans, ensuring every student can thrive. While we are committed to inclusivity, we also remain mindful of the needs of our existing students, providing continuous monitoring and adjustments to ensure the best possible care for all.

  • What if my child does not speak fluent English?

We have a team of experienced and dedicated teachers, who plan high-quality lessons in order to help students improve their English. Your child will take part in daily phonics activities to help them recognise letters and sounds, before learning to blend. Spoken English will be modelled and visual aids used to support your child’s language acquisition.

  • What are the assessments like?

In the Primary School, teachers use a mixture of formative and summative assessments. Summative assessments are tests that occur either at th

term. Class teachers will also use a range of formative assessment strategies, such as marking books, giving feedback throughout the lessons based on verbal or written answers and questioning. Teachers will use a mixture of this evidence when giving students their report grades.

In Secondary School, assessments can take many different forms. Teachers assess through questioning in the classroom and the marking of work completed. This might be self, peer or teacher marking. Tests will be administered at the end of topic/ unit. Students may be asked to produce project-based work in some subjects. At Key Stage 3 students will be assessed using the England and Wales National Curriculum descriptors for the subject. At Key Stage 4 students will be assessed using GCSE criteria and Key Stage 5 the assessment will be against AS criteria. They might be a test, an essay, a poster or a presentation.

  • Do you accept applications from overseas students?

At RGS we welcome applications from students around the world. To ensure a smooth admissions process, international applicants must adhere to the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOE) requirements for overseas applicants:

    • All students must obtain a valid Qatar ID (QID).
    • An attested school report from your child’s current or previous school is required.

How We Support You: We understand that obtaining the necessary documents may take time, so we will keep your child’s application on file while you complete this process. Our admissions team is here to guide you every step of the way and provide any support needed regarding the attestation or QID requirements.

Once the QID and attested school report are received, we will proceed with scheduling your child’s assessment.
